About What We Do & What We Believe In

Presenting Beyond Premieres
Premieres are a thrilling and vital part of our work, but first performances needn’t be the only performances. Musical works mature over multiple playings and hearings. To this end, CMASH has cultivated a network of performers dedicated to giving repeat performances of new works.

Building Community
We believe the fundamental role of live music is to communicate. In every performance there exists the potential for an organic connection between listeners, performers and composers. With informative and innovative concert programming, CMASH engages audiences of diverse backgrounds and musical experience levels in a dynamic exchange of emotions and ideas.

Outreach & Educational Programming
Seeking to draw out the potential creativity in young writers and musicians, core members of
CMASH offer masterclasses, seminars and workshops focused on the collaborative artistic process.

Fostering Collaborative Good-Will
A noncompetitive, supportive environment is the ideal creative space for artists to do their best work. In the CMASH collaborative model, composers and performers learn from and inspire one another in creative synergy. We encourage collaborators to draw on the fullness of one another’s talents, resources and personal visions in crafting new works.

Valuing Well-Being
We believe that good mental and physical health are integral to artistic success. CMASH embraces business and creative models in which artists’ health and well-being are valued as highly as professional development, material productivity, and financial gain.
